The article focuses on the life and legacy of Yehuda Bauer, a prominent scholar in Holocaust and genocide studies who passed away on October 18, 2024, at the age of ninety-eight. Bauer, who immigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1939, significantly advanced the academic field by emphasizing the importance of Jewish perspectives and primary sources in understanding the Holocaust. He was instrumental in establishing Holocaust studies as a recognized discipline and advocated for an interdisciplinary approach to research, challenging conventional narratives and promoting a nuanced understanding of genocide.
