Abstract
This article examines the composition of Q 2:57–61 and argues that v. 61 is sec-ondary to the passage. At the center of the argument stand a contradiction between vv. 57 and 61, an instructive parallel in Q 7:160–162, and a comparison to biblical traditions. The article concludes with a brief speculation about the possible adaptation which might have taken place when the verse was added.
