Abstract
We demonstrate how adding synchronverters to a power grid can help stabilize the system. By using fast communication between two synchronverters in separate areas, we can create virtual friction between their virtual rotors. We show by simulations that this virtual friction is an effective way to suppress inter-area oscillations.
