Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This paper examine the continuities and discontinuities between the early rabbis (Tannaim) and Wisdom traditions. After a general review, we will look at tractate Avot in the Mishnah and ask in what sense and to what extant is this a wisdom composition. The answer will reveal the flexibility and multifaceted character of wisdom tradition(s), as well as some surprising perspectives about rabbinic self presentation.
