The role of the university during a period of stress and political upheaval

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze how Israeli Jewish and Arab students who study in a conflict resolution course at the university negotiate their feelings in a moment of terror and horror. The research will focus on the unique coping mechanisms they employed in order to cope with the complexity of this situation. More specifically, the research will focus on the conceptualization of the feelings, and complicated experiences of these students and the role of the university played during a period of stress and political upheaval.
