The New Wealth of Nations: Patent Registration as an indication of a Nation's Development and Wealth

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

This paper suggests a method that can be applied in order to predict a country's
economic standing and even (projected) economic future. This is done by looking at
the number of patents that are filed by the residents of a given country. Here I show a
clear correlation between a country's economic standing and the scope of patents
originating from said country.
