The Evil Inclination (yeṣer ha-ra‘) in Tannaitic Literature: Demonic Desires and Beyond

Abstract

In this chapter I am going to do two, hopefully complementary, things: to summarize my findings on the Tannaitic yeṣer, and then to offer some methodological reflections about it, especially ones that were developed as a result of a recent critique of my Demonic Desires.
