Abstract

Knowledge of Samaritan Aramaic–‘the Samaritan lan-guage’orlingua samaritana, as it was called in the scien-tific literature before the 19thcentury–had for a longtime been derived from a single manuscript of the Samar-itan Targum that had been brought to Europe in the 16thcentury.
