Tailoring Free Electron Spontaneous Emission from Graphene using Shaped Electron Wavepackets

Abstract

Photons emitted via bremsstrahlung are inherently incoherent and non-directional. We show that the intrinsic cross-section of bremsstrahlung from crystalline solids can be enhanced and made directional by shaping the quantum wave nature of free electrons.
