Samaritan Aramaic Phraseology or Hallmarks of Individual Style? On Some Expressions Occurring in the Early Liturgy and in Tibat Marqe

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

The major literary works written in Samaritan Aramaic proper include the earlier parts of the midrash collection Tibat Marqe. They consist of the retelling of the story of the plagues of Egypt in the first book, which ends with the Israelites reaching the shores of the Sea of Reeds, and, as a kind of sequel, the complex mosaic of non-narrative interpretations of the Song of the Sea in the second book.
