Abstract

Analog fractionally-spaced equalizer (FSE) is an efficient equalizer, however, the FSE might become unstable when sign-sign least mean square (SS-LMS) is used. Here, an analytical model of the instability is derived, and an efficient dithering-based stabilization process is proposed.
