Abstract
The article surveys the form and use of quotative frames in the Late Western Aramaic dialect of the Samaritans: the different verba dicendi and the default verb Pmr, the position of the frame in relation to the direct discourse, various means of integrating the frame into the narrative, double quotations, the marking of biblical quotations, and direct discourse introduced by a subordinating particle. This is the only comprehensive study of quotative frames for any Central Semitic language except Biblical Hebrew.
