Quasi-phase-matching of surface plasmon waves

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic generation of surface plasmon waves in a system composed of a metallic structure on top of a periodically-poled nonlinear crystal, and offers highly versatile tailoring of nonlinear processes.
