Practical algorithm for designing caustic beams

Abstract

We present a practical algorithm for designing the aperture field that is required for propagating a caustic beam along a predefined generic trajectory that consists of both convex and concave sections. The implementation is based on back-tracing ray trajectories from the predefined trajectory to the source's aperture to form its phase distribution.
