Abstract
In the frame of research about Jewish-pagan convergence, we will study the cultural/religious interrelation between the Herodian temple and the surrounding polytheism, on its extrinsic as intrinsic sides. The article suggests that, in spite of ritual similarities, the Jewish cult remain impenetrable to polytheism.
