title = "Outboard Engine Boat DC Power enhancement for Military Purposes",
abstract = "In this article an enhancement of an outboard motor DC electric energy system is proposed. The main aim of this research is to adapt the standard DC voltage system to military purposes. This implies that the available energy should be increased. The use of a large energy storage system is not a feasible solution due to the small boat's dimensions. An improvement of the efficiency is achieved by changing the AC-DC converter operation. The idle motor speed was also increased to increase the system input energy, but the motor speed is also constrained by the maximum sound level allowed during a military operation. An experiment was conducted to determine the available energy in the standard system, and the proposed solution was simulated to validate the findings.",
