Abstract

A minimum-effort guidance problem with terminal time and angle constraints against a stationary target is considered. The nonlinear optimal control problem is posed based on quadratic kinematics approximation and its candidate solution is obtained in closed form. Based on this solution, a guidance strategy is proposed that is implemented using a semi-analytic procedure. Numerical simulations are conducted to demonstrate the properties of the extremal trajectories. A fully nonlinear simulation is performed to demonstrate the application of the proposed guidance law.
