title = "On Speech Enhancement Using Microphone Arrays in the Presence of Co-Directional Interference",
abstract = "Beamforming using microphone arrays has been widely used for enhancing speech signals of interest and suppressing noise and interference in a wide range of applications. In order to make it work, beamforming generally assumes that the speech source of interest and the interference source are incident to the array from different directions. In this paper, we study the case where both the speech and interference sources come from the same direction. A linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) beamformer is derived in this scenario based on the so-called widely linear (WL) estimation framework in the frequency domain. We analyze this beamformer and show how its performance depends on the second-order non-circularity of the desired speech and interference sources.",
