Observation of the nonreciprocal adiabatic geometric phase in nonlinear optics

Abstract

We demonstrate both theoretically and experimentally, a robust scheme that generates an adiabatic geometric phase via frequency conversion. By tailoring nonlinear photonic crystals we create nonlinear geometric phase plates which also exhibit optical nonreciprocity.
