O Brother, Where Art Thou? The Search for Interethnic Solidarity in the Late Imperial Era.

This article examines relations between Poles and Jews from the partitions of Poland in the late eighteenth century to the outbreak of World War I. Concentrating on the regions of Poland that fell under Russian imperial rule, this co-authored article is part of a larger historical project designed to integrate multiple, at times contradictory, perspectives into a single historical narrative regarding the history of relations between Poles and Jews. The article highlights divergent interpretations of common historical events and developments in this period as part of its efforts to shed light on the historical and contemporary debates that are central to Polish-Jewish relations as well as their potential amelioration.
