Abstract
The author addresses three geographical issues that emerge from the el-Amarna correspondence, all related to south Canaan: the identification of Yurza and Bit-NIN.URTA and the location of a coastal polity between Ashkelon and Jaffa. He suggests placing Yurza at Tel Haror, Bit-NIN.URTA at Deir el-‘Azar (biblical Kiriath-jearim) and identifying Yavne-Yam (Mu azu) as a center of a south Canaanite city-state.
