Abstract

For large scatterers the Method of Moments (MoM) can become numerically inefficient when used with the standard free-space Green's function kernel because of the many line-of-sight interactions that need to be taken into account. In the case of impenetrable scatterers, these interactions are highly non-physical and kernel modifications that suppress these interactions may be used to increase the efficiency of the MoM solutions. Here we show that deep-shadow producing multipole kernels can be employed to significantly reduce the numerical complexity of such problems.
