Managing School Safety

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

School managers in the 21st century are often faced with seemingly intractable problems. Schools have experienced global and technological challenges that generations heretofore never had to encounter. Given unprecedented internal and external pressures, leaders, especially in their management capacities, must be creative and entrepreneurial. They must be able to manage internal and external settings simultaneously with efficiently (Adams & Muthiah, 2020). This chapter will explore the complex personal and contextual challenges experienced by school stakeholders from a unique theoretical lens (Bourdieu, 1986). Managing school safety will be the primary, not only, issue the chapter will address.
