L'Imposture comme Posture Sayed Kashua Chroniqueur et Romancier

Sayed Kashua is an Arab Israeli columnist and a novelist publishing in He-brew. His literary reputation (in French - “posture”) is produced through both his novelistic and journalistic writing, where he stages the public’s and the critics’ view of his persona – as author of minor literature, journalist keen on literary suc-cess, fame craver, narcissistic personality, “brown nose” and a politically involved author. The ironic way in which he handles the making of his literary reputation, by accepting and deconstructing these often contradictory postures becomes an integral part of his multifaceted posture. The aim of this paper is thus to analyze the intricate ways in which such a literary reputation is produced, developed, and accepted yet simultaneously rejected, only to become part of Kashua’s posture d’écrivain.
