Abstract

Bruits de pages (1978-1980) is one of five magazine sections of Nuits Magnétiques, the nocturnal radio program on France Culture in its early days . Conceived by Alain Veinstein, it attempts to break away from current radiophonic practices of its time. However, while positioning itself against the promotion of best-sellers on the radio, it simultaneously seeks to be part of the general tendency to advertise by endorsing books that are less heard of. The program’s interviews are in a way typical of those sounded on France Culture. However, those carried out by Alain Veinstein can be viewed as the precursors of the interviews he is to develop in later years, in his one-on-one nocturnal program Du jour au lendemain (1985-2014).
