Abstract

Workplace spirituality and, particularly, the concept of spiritual leadership have received much attention in the business literature in many Anglo-American countries. Together, both concepts refer to inner life, a search for meaningful work, calling and membership. The current paper revisits these concepts from a cultural perspective. More specifically, it compares the essentials of spiritual leadership with the fundamental characteristics of the Arab culture and suggests alternative conceptualizations of its components in the Arab world.
