Kalman-MLSE equalization of nonlinear noise

Abstract

We investigate the potential of adaptive equalization techniques to mitigate intra-channel nonlinear interference noise (NLIN). We develop an equalizer tailored for NLIN reduction, based on Kalman filtering and maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE).
