Inverse Design of Plexcitonic Metasurfaces for Broadband Nonlinear Frequency Conversion

Abstract

Using inverse design, we demonstrate a plexcitonic metasurface of monolayer WS2 strongly coupled to gold nanoantennas. Broadband third-harmonic generation is attained over the entire plexcitonic frequencies. We discuss optimization strategies and implications for nonlinear photonics.
