International Conference on Optical MEMS and Nanophotonics: Preface

This year marks a special occasion, as the International Conference on Optical MEMS and Nanophotonics (OMN) celebrates its 20^th year anniversary! What started out as a topical meeting on the burgeoning field of Optical MEMS has established itself as a sustainable international conference with a dedicated Steering Committee that has enabled the conference to flourish and expand its scope. OMN prides itself in selecting attractive conference host sites, and I am sure this year's conference - held in Jerusalem - will continue this tradition. Jerusalem is a city with a rich history and culture dating back thousands of years. Among its main attractions are the Old City, including its religious sites holy to the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish faiths, its outdoor markets, museums covering its history, people, and the arts, its diverse neighborhoods, and lively night scene. I trust you will have ample opportunities to experience some of the city's main attractions throughout the week. The exciting conference program that was assembled with the help of the dedicated Program Committee is composed of noteworthy Plenary Speakers, stimulating Invited Speakers, select contributed papers to be presented orally and at poster sessions allowing personal interaction between researchers.
