N2 - The present workshop aims to facilitate conversations within the Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) community around bridging the gap between AI efforts and educational stakeholders’ (teachers, students, parents, administrators, etc.) needs. In particular, the workshop will address existing barriers to collaboration between researchers and stakeholders, approaches envisioned and taken to address these challenges, and corresponding insights to help move the field forward in this area. The workshop invites papers (with a paper format that is aligned to the AIED submission instructions) that present approaches to cross-disciplinary research, exemplify novel interdisciplinary research approaches in the broad field of AIED, etc. Papers from international research communities are particularly welcomed. The structure of the workshop will include presentations of accepted papers, followed by an in-depth small group and whole group discussion regarding common themes across presentations. An overview of the lessons learned and key take-aways presented will be published in a 1-page summary in the conference proceedings.
