Increased SNR in acousto-optic imaging via coded ultrasound transmission

Abstract

We develop a new approach for increasing the SNR of pulse-mode acousto-optic imaging via coded acoustic transmission. Using a 19-element sequence, over a 2-fold reduction in noise is demonstrated, in agreement with the theoretical prediction.
