Abstract
Few studies have examined the impact of creative processes in supervision, in particular with experienced creative art therapists. This quantitative study examined the influence of the El Duende One-Canvas Process Painting (EDPP) supervision model on the professional development of experienced creative arts therapists. Forty participants completed questionnaires before and after supervision. Findings showed that the EDPP model enhanced the creative arts therapists’ perceptions of the value of art in supervision and positively impacted their art-working alliance (AT-WAI) throughout the supervision process and increased openness to experience, suggesting that art-based supervision supports stronger supervisory relationships and professional growth.
