Abstract

The article reflects on the views of author on Michael Ignatieff's discussion of the relationships between human rights and the ordinary virtues. Topics discussed include international legal theory of human rights; analysis of human rights as legal norms, moral norms and social norms; and relationship between the human rights and civic virtue.
