Abstract

Heterodyne phase-shift-amplified interferometry is demonstrated. A phase-shift-amplification factor of 30 is achieved. Theory predicts a shot-noise-limited sensitivity improvement of √2 compared to a standard heterodyne Mach-Zehnder interferometer.
