Abstract
An H2 problem for a general linear time-invariant plant, in which the controller involves both data sampling and a delay line, is studied. Sampling instances and the loop delay are considered to be intermittent and a priori unknown. It is only assumed that the delays do not exceed corresponding sampling intervals. The derived closed-form optimal controller is computationally simple, structurally transparent, and impervious to network loses.
