Abstract
Many museums today use mobile guides to aid in enhancing the museum visit experience. One of the uses for mobile guides is for navigation. While navigation for individuals visiting a museum has been studied extensively, the study of individuals and groups navigating in museums with mobile guides is in its nascent stages. We propose a study using a set of tours tailored to visitor types following Falk's (2009) definition with degrees of freedom. We provide navigation aids based both on maps and direction giving. In order to involve a group in the decision making process of navigation we use a mobile device with a small projector.
