Abstract
We demonstrate numerically and experimentally a gainmanaged nonlinear amplifier with a large mode area fiber. The amplifier delivers 1.2 μJ and sub-40 fs pulses with the spectrum spanning from ∼1000 to ∼1180 nm. We show that longitudinal gain-loss evolution plays an essential role in pulse formation by comparing simulations with different gain models to the experimental results.
