Abstract

Formula Student is the largest world-wide student engineering competition, in which student teams (some 600) from around the world annually design, build, test and eventually race a smallscale formula style racing car. Formula Technion project started at 2013, participating since in the annual competitions held abroad. It is the single biggest Technion's student project (avg. of 50 students each year), made up of students from Mechanical Eng. Faculty (project host), Aerospace Eng. Faculty (formal collaborator), Electrical Engineering and more. As Aerodynamics play a crucial rule in motorsports and in formula students vehicles in particular, Formula Technion's aerodynamics team grew larger every year, enhancing the aerodynamic package both in mechanical and aerodynamic design and manufacturing methods, and deepening the project's collaboration with the Aeronautical Eng. Faculty. This article describes the work of Formula Technion 2017 Aerodynamics team.
