Abstract
We initiated this special issue in response to what we identified as a lacuna in scholarship: while studies of aging have proliferated across the disciplines and in literary and cultural studies as well, there has not yet been a sustained effort to think about the connection between aging and literary form. We invited Jacob Jewusiak as guest editor, who gathered an impressive number and diversity of essays, the project eventually ballooning into a double issue.
