title = "Ethical Considerations in Interoperability",
abstract = "Organizations collaborating globally to accelerate the innovation process are facing multiple challenges ranging from cultural differences to interoperable systems. The EU facilitates collaboration between organizations from its member states through common policies and interconnected networks. Digital public services are being introduced to modernize public administrations. The European Interoperability Framework (EIF) to address challenges in digital communication and connectivity across borders and communities. This paper presents a work carried out to suggest a recommendation to the EIF results by adding an ethics layer that would allow all digital public services to be prepared to prevent and address the challenges that may derive from the use of AI systems. In addition, a case study carried out in the DIH4CPS project is presented, where the AI guidelines were applied to digital services that were implemented in different sectors, intending to demonstrate the applicability of ethics requirements in digital systems supported by AI.",
