Abstract
The original paper focused on three main types of behavior of the autocovariance of disorder: (i) monotone decreasing autocovariances, as in Fig. 1 of the paper, (ii) nonmonotonic autocovariances which exhibit negative correlations, as in Fig. 2 of the paper, and (iii) nonmonotonic but everywhere positive autocovariances. All our results obtained in cases (i) and (ii) are correct. There was, however, an error in our results for case (iii), and the error is reflected in Fig. 3(b) of the paper. A corrected version of Fig. 3 is presented here. Because of the correction, the mean time of particle escape in case (iii) is described by Eq. (27) of the paper, and not by Eq. (23). That is, nonmonotonic but positive autocorrelations lead to an exponentially strong decrease of the mean escape time. A corrected version of the full paper is available online [1].
