Efficient hard X-ray source enabled by metallic nano-gratings

Abstract

We propose practical nano-grating configurations for highly directional and monochromatic hard X-ray generation from modestly relativistic electrons. By optimizing the nanograting to support high field enhancement we show efficient radiation generation at multiple harmonics.
