Abstract

This essay will examine to what extent the expansion of popular culture flows across states is a significant explanatory factor for important issues in the field of International Relations (IR). Does it really matter for IR scholars? In this chapter I identify the various ways in which popular culture may be related to IR, and suggest what are the important questions to ask if we wish to examine more directly and empirically each of these potential links.
