title = "Direction of arrival estimation in MIMO radar systems with nonlinear reflectors",
abstract = "Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar systems have been shown to offer superior performance in direction of arrival (DOA) estimation applications compared to their phased array counterparts. The performance of these systems has been studied under various probing field-target interaction mechanisms. However, to the best of our knowledge, these have been restricted to linearized models. Motivated by various nonlinear imaging modalities we study DOA estimation in far field MIMO radar systems in conjunction with a power-law nonlinear probing field-target interaction mechanism and show that the nonlinearity increases the number of identifiable targets with a given number of antenna array elements.",
