Abstract
This entry reviews nonconventional developments in the field of optical performance monitoring. It introduces a nonconventional technique for estimating optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) within the spectral band. Then, it presents an approach for bit error rate as well as OSNR estimation using dynamic range conversion. The summary discusses a super-resolving approach for nonconventional eye diagram extraction.
