Abstract

Abstract Although many scholars view anti-Semitism (hatred of Jews) as a unique type of prejudice that originated in ancient times, crystallized over two millennia of western Christianity, reached its apex during World War II, and continues in various forms to this day, others see it as a distinctly modern political ideology and phenomenon that emanated from ongoing confrontations with modern society, the rise of scientific racism, and the advent of popular politics.
