Abstract
In this chapter, we describe and further develop a model for understanding how laws and legal systems respond to the needs of older persons. This multi-dimensional model can be used both to understand a particular country’s legal structure in relation to older adults, and to compare the legal structures of different countries. We believe that it therefore can be a framework for understanding China’s legal response to old-age concerns, and comparing that response to the responses of other countries.
