Abstract
Parametric mechanical amplifiers have recently regained popularity with the emergence of microelectromechanical structures and optical systems. The present state-of-the-art has limited capabilities and restricts the frequencies of the input signal or the amplification levels. In the present paper, a two-tone parametric pumping excitation is proposed to bring the amplifier close to the stability limit and there, by a suitable modulation, to create a double parametric resonance thus exhibiting large amplification and high selectivity. The paper describes the mathematical background, some numerical validation.
