Abstract
The tablet Had 8 from Azu/Tell Hadidi is identified as a Mittani letter order sent from one Hurrian official to the next. The letter order is concerned with silver demanded from the “Citizens of Azu”, or the civic body of the city. The letter order can be synchronized with other tablets from Azu as well as with documents from Ekalte and Emar. This, as will be discussed, has ramifications regarding our understanding of the chronology and history of the Middle Euphrates region during the Late Bronze Age.
