Abstract
המאמר יתמקד בהבנת גישתו של מחבר האיגרת לגבי שחרור העבדים היהודיים כנושא העומד ביסוד תרגום התורה ליוונית, ובעיקר בשאלה: מדוע ראה מחבר האיגרת בביטול העבדות היהודית תנאי הכרחי למיזם של תרגום התורה ליוונית? למיטב ידיעתינו, סוגיה זו טרם נחקרה די הצורך. המחברים מציעים כיוון מחקרי חדש המבוסס על מהלכים המבחינים בין שתי תקופות: ימי האירועים המתוארים באיגרת וימי חיבור האיגרת.
